Why Most Start Up Businesess Fail-AVOID These Mistakes!
For any new business, the odds are stacked against success. In fact, sources indicate as many as nine out of 10 businesses fail within five years. Below are the top reasons why businesses fail:
1. They quit their day jobs.
People who quit their day job to start a business think that they’ll be able to work harder on their business each day and make a fortune, but the truth is this will only make their expenses higher, and they will end up with less money to pay their bills and business expenses each month!
3. They don’t do their research.
Businesses that fail don’t learn every detail of their core business. The market only pays excellent rewards for excellent performance.. In contrast, below average performance pays below average rewards, failure and frustration.
2. They don’t target their audience.
The biggest mistake most companies make when writing a business plan is not having a target audience in mind, suggests Michael Miller, author of 75 non-fiction books. These businesses don’t put their audience in mind, and go the generic route instead which is a huge mistake. “Looking at it another way,” noted Miller, “if you don’t know who your audience is, you really don’t know why you’re creating a plan, and a plan with no purpose is a plan for failure.”
4. They think they can do it all.
“I can do it all” syndrome. If you don’t focus on your strengths and hire others to take care of your weak points, you’re in trouble. To be good at business does not mean you have to be good at everything!
5. They’re only in it for the money.
They`re in it strictly for the money. Businesses that exist to serve their customers approach business entirely different than businesses that exist to serve themselves. Don`t kid yourself. Customers can sense the difference.
6. They don’t learn from their mistakes.
Some businesses continue to make the same mistakes over and over again. Albert Einstein once said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results.”
7. Poor presentation of product or service.
You`ve probably heard the saying, “Presentation is everything.” Truer words have never been spoken. How well you present your product or service will ultimately determine its success or failure.
